September 15, 2006, Newsletter Issue #32: Buying a Speedstream Modem.
1
Tip of the Week
A speedstream modem is an external modem that is used to increase internet surfing speeds with the use of broadband or DSL connections. They are able to connect to Ethernet laptops or desktops regardless of the operating system. The modem speed will vary from 1MBps to 8 MBps depending on whether files are being downloaded or uploaded. The modem booster can be purchased at any general electronics store. Pay attention to who the modem will allow a connection with for broadband or DSL because many speedstream modems are specific to a premium internet provider. The service can usually be signed up for inside the store the speedstream modem is being purchased from. If not then the consumer can sign up over the phone or online if they have a current connection or access.
