Baud rate converter helps maximize a PC modem.

A baud converter rate is especially helpful with outdated equipment that works off of a smaller baud rate than that of many computers today. The data rates will be accepted by the baud rate converter as is and then turned into what the equipment expects to receive it at. It is an embedded interface. A baud rate converter is able to plug into the RS-232 serial port to receive and convert information. Plus, the converter is able to be programmed to accept or transmit any baud rate from 300 to 19200 baud.
